Join Slow Food Baltimore and Friends of Baltimore Hostel for a
special earth day screening of Lily Films' The Future of Food.
Care about fresh food and the people who grow our crops? Then this film is a must-see to have
a deeper understanding of Monsanto's strategy to change the face of
America's family farms. Check out more information about the movie at
www.thefutureoffood.com.
Earth Day is on Saturday, April 22nd. Meet at 5pm at the newly restored
Baltimore Hostel on Mulberry St. in Mt. Vernon with a potluck
dish/dessert to share. After eating and mingling, we will view the
feature-length film.
Afterward, former farmer and current union of concerned scientists
representative (also Slow Food Baltimore's co-leader) Ben Larson will lead
a question and answer session about the state of our farms and the influx
of genetically engineered crops into our food supply.
Celebrate Earth Day with your fellow snails. Cost is $5 members and
nonmembers alike. Please bring a dish/dessert of your choice to share.
Drinks and all other necessities will be provided for you. The Baltimore Hostel is located at 17 W. Mulberry St. - between Charles and Cathedral streets, across from the Central Enoch Pratt Free Library in Mt. Vernon.
